Great Getaway

We booked this location for a golf outing/ weekend getaway and had a great time. The location is absolutely stunning. From the pool room, to multiple bars, the theatre room, the firepit, the huge kitchen. We were worried the place was too good to be true, and we were glad that it delivered. The property was beautiful, clean, more than enough to meet and exceed all of our needs. Highly recommend!

Incredible space!

This property is incredible. The three houses were in immaculate shape when we arrived with 20+ guests and slept all of us comfortably. The amount of space available is almost overwhelming. The private pond was big enough for some to swim, some to kayak, and others to fish without a problem. The highlight of our week was the indoor pool and spa which was maintained super well, clean, and the perfect temperatures. If I could rate it higher than a 5 I would. I recommend this property to anyone with a large group. The hosts were super gracious, understanding and accommodated all of my questions before, during, and after our stay. Thank you so much to Chris, Katie, and Tony for an awesome weekend!

Special Place for Wellness Retreat

Everything worked out beautifully! It was perfect and had everything we needed. Thank you so much for sharing your ranch! We did over 10 cold plunges in the pond, loved the pool, loved the fire pit, and the practice space worked out great. We even did our main lecture in the theater! Our chef said the kitchen worked beautifully! I kept being amazed by all the little details that made the house over-the-top like the hidden bathroom in the kitchen pantry, all of the washer/dryer units (two in the pantry!), the plethora of wood for fires, the easy to heat hot tub, the waterfall into the pond, the kayaks, and beautiful dishes. The interior design was a delight from the door knobs to the light fixtures to the pretty canisters for the tide pods.

Wedding of our Dreams

Our stay at the Great river ranch was amazing. It allowed us the wedding of our dreams. The owners and property manager Chris, were so accommodating to us and us having our wedding there, it was literally perfect. The weather was perfect, we rented an outdoor tent with heaters and walls just in case, there was plenty of space in the backyard for it. We were able to have 2/3 of our wedding guests stay overnight there because the place has so much sleeping availability (we had a small wedding of 50). The house was a hit, very well built for large gatherings, and those guests that stayed for the weekend were able to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tub which was amazing. Many of our weekend guests were also able to enjoy the movie theater room, which was especially a hit on Sunday for football. The night of the wedding we were even able to have a campfire in the outdoor covered gazebo area that is again perfectly setup for a group fire, lights outside and everything. The mansion has 3 huge suites with bathrooms that each set of parents and us were able to stay in and utilize on the wedding day for getting ready, so convenient. We were also able to rent out the new 'farmhouse' for a whole family of ours that were a part of the wedding, which worked out perfectly with the 2 bedroom combo, it even has its own kitchen and living room, fully remodeled. The bunkhouse was absolutely perfect for all the littles and the other guest couples that were in attendance, they had their own space to retreat to which was nice. Overall, absolutely amazing property, local cupcakes by Jess on arrival when you get there are to die for, and the local Ellenboro Saloon owner Ron, made a rehearsal dinner that we are still thinking about a month later, it was that amazing. Again, just absolutely amazing property that made our wedding dreams come true.

We rented an outdoor tent and there was plenty of space in the backyard for it. We were able to have 30 of our 50 wedding guests stay overnight there because the place has so much sleeping availability. The house was a hit, very well built for large gatherings, and those guests that stayed for the weekend were able to enjoy the indoor pool and hottub which was amazing. Highly recommend this property - truly amazing!!

Thank you to Tony and Katie, our hosts. Our family gathering this year was a huge success, in large part because of the fine facilities at The Great River Ranch. We found it to be clean, and comfortable, with a well appointed kitchen and dining area, large living rooms, bedrooms, and baths. Plenty of activities available with the home movie theater, games, large indoor swimming pool and hot tub, outdoor sheltered fire pit, and pond for kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and swimming. Our family highly recommends The Great River Ranch and we all look forward to returning again next year.

Special Place!

The Great River Ranch is quite a special place extremely conducive to creating lasting memories. Our only complaint was that we did not have enough time to enjoy all that the property has to offer (which just means we'll have to try to come back!). Tony and Katie were very accommodating and helpful in terms of suggestions and aiding in some additional arrangements. Be sure to spend enough time at the house taking advantage of everything there! Our group had a few plans in the area around Potosi that were great fun as well, but could have easily spent more time just enjoying the property.

It is truly a challenge to articulate the perfection of our experience at The Great River Ranch. From the thoughtful, compassionate, incredible owners, the inviting, thorough, responsive manager, to the stunning, both inside and out property and accommodations, this ranch is a true oasis. We had our dream wedding here with our family and a few close friends. Everyone is STILL talking about it. Each room inviting, updated to convey simple elegance and charm. Each of our guests, cozy with all the comforts of home. When it came time for us to go home, my new husband and I had tears in our eyes. It was a true dream come true experience. We have so much gratitude for the owners for creating this incredible property. Highest of praise and ratings! We will be back many times over and refer it to all we know!

Wonderful Family Escape

My immediate family of 25(parents, siblings, nieces & nephews) truly enjoyed our time at GRR. The bedrooms and amenities were great. There was a lot of pool time and some of the boys walked down to fish on the Mississippi. Two of them caught some good size fish. The 2 electric bikes also got a lot of use by both adults and teenagers. The movie theater was used on two nights. We brought a volley ball net, which got a lot of use, and had a timed relay race challenge with several teams of two, using items brought from home and the kayaks on the pond. Played games and told ghost stories around the outdoor fire at night. When you have teenagers that put down their phones and stay engaged, you know you have found a great place for everyone.

Awesome family vacation

Great River Ranch is basically like having your own resort. It is very well appointed and the remodel the main lodge is fantastic. If you’re looking for a great place for a large family reunion or a group vacation, I doubt you can find a better place in this part of Wisconsin.
